I recently went a little batty for granny squares. They’re so cute and homey and traditional and colorful and the symmetry makes my brain feel nice. I made a pair of sweet little spring floral table runners with a layer cake of Riley Blake’s Floribella fabric collection.
Maybe this one is my favorite (just kidding they’re all my favorite):
Then I made a casual couch throw quilt with some blue and red fabrics. For the backing I used a shirting weight flannel and it has a nice light and airy feel.
Linking up for a Friday Finish at Crazy Mom Quilts!
Let’s ignore the fact that I failed to share any projects here for the past, erm, several months. I’ll just beat you all over the heads with quilts for the next few weeks (that should be soft and squishy and pleasant enough).
I made this sweet little mint, midnight and strawberry confection with Tasha Noel’s Vintage Market, a fabric family incorporating some of my favorite things in life: bicycles, markets, and handkerchiefs to name a few.
Destined for a special baby.
Well sized for napping and floor scampering.
Last year I stumbled upon Moda’s fabric bundle Cape Ann by Oliver + S. You see, Cape Ann Massachusetts is perhaps my favorite place on the planet. I’ve gone every summer with little exception since I was two and I have so many sunny, salty, family-filled memories of the place, that I can close my eyes and feel the warm air and smell the ocean whenever I need a little pick me up. Which is a long way of saying, I had to buy the fabric.
I held onto it until the right baby came along. I managed to eek out two quilts from my little charm pack, using a wide expanse of soothing Kona Bone background.
Some soft dove gray flannel on the back.
Linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts for another Friday Finish.
