I certain special niece is about to turn one, and the weather is about to turn chilly, so I sewed up a quick little stroller quilt to keep her cozy all winter. I broke into a stash of Melissa White for Misaki Mallow & Bee fabric I have been hoarding for a year, and kept to a simple three-fabric scheme. The pale green lattice fabric is recycled from a men’s dress shirt, thanks to Uncle Jon.
The final quilt is about 26″ x 33″, with ties placed on either side 10″ from the top, to attach to a stroller or car seat. I was inspired by this Sophie Car Seat Quilt over at Moda Bake Shop for the general size and construction, though I pieced my own little quilt top.
Miss Kitty models for us in lieu of an actual stroller or baby. The backing is a scrap of starry pink flannel for the top third, with white cotton below. (I didn’t have enough flannel in the stash for the whole thing, but this will give baby’s fingers and chin something soft to cuddle up to.)
