The colors in my Teenage Dream quilt proved to be a tiny bit too loud for our couch, so I gifted it to a well-deserving future teen, and started work on a second attempt. I dug through my fabric bins and used some bits and pieces from many previous quilt projects. I was inspired by Jeni Baker’s lovely half square triangle block of the month quilt pattern. The colors in this one are still vibrant, but set in plenty of calm white so it doesn’t overwhelm the eyes. It’s quilted in vertical strips at 1″ intervals. Added bonus: I get to admire scraps of fabric from many previous quilts, most long gifted away, and remember those fun projects from the comfort of my living room.
