This latest baby quilt was made for a dear friend just in time for her baby shower. I wanted to give her a more modern quilt to fit her sleek style, so I chose a pallet of mostly solid colors- a first for me. As for pattern, a surreptitious peak at her pinterest page led me to this lovely Modern Ombre Triangle quilt by See Katie Sew, which coincidentally, I had bookmarked for myself months earlier. I modified the colors to fit her incoming little girl or boy, and followed this handy triangle tutorial over at Stitched in Color. I cut my triangles quite small (let’s just say I did this on purpose, OK?) which meant lots and lots of piecing. Completely worth it in the end, though! It’s a pillowy puffy triangly baby rest.
Linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts for a long overdue Friday finish. I really have been sewing this whole while- just gift sewing, so no posting ’til gifts are given!
