Blue Diamonds Quilt

Kissing Diamonds Quilt

I have another niece on the way, and with four wonderful, rambunctious, thoroughly boy-like nephews, a second niece is something to get excited about.  Happily, this week I shipped off soon-to-be-baby’s new quilt.  Patterned after another skillful tutorial by Kitchen Table Quilting, this quilt was so fun and satisfying to sew up.  Inspiration started with a few fabrics from Dena Designs’ London collection, to which I added a few more creamy, blue and aqua cottons.  I had to resist the urge to keep this one for myself.  It would look lovely on my wing chair for winter reading, and it matches my vintage blanket rack just about perfectly…

Beautiful quilt, Sarah! This is good motivation for me, I have a quilt in progress (sister’s choice block, twin size) that I need to get working on again. I like your color choice, blues are beautiful for a girl, especially when they’re floral and combined with cream. Nice job!

Now that looks like a comfy, cozy quilt. I love the softness of it – perfect for the snuggling new niece to be!

  3. Really pretty, such lovely fabrics. The new baby will get lots of use with it!
